Soooo…
I am really happy to be home. I miss France, I do, but my life in the u.s. is so different from my life over there. And so begins another great Gerogia summer. I gotta say it is definitely my favorite time of year. No school. Great weather. Long hours at work (which I actually love). Friends. Summer sports.
Thank God for the happiness I feel at this moment. I am honestly on blissful high and it is just from being back to my “normal” routine.
Life is good. Life is simple. Life is satisfying.

The past three weeks
As the end of my experience here winds down, I have decided to take full advantage of it. The past 20 days have been filld with non-stop traveling and laughter.
Ireland:
Trips with european schools are completely different from the ones I experenced in highchool in the usa. First we took the nicest charter bus I have ever seen. It was the delux version, kind of like the cadillac of charterbuses. Also something that added to this trip was that most of my close friends here went as well. We all made memories that will stay with me as one of the happiest times of my life. Thirdly, it was Ireland. Since a was a little redheaded girl, I have wanted to visit the ”the motherland.” While there wasn’t a redhead on EVERY corner, there was definitely a higher percentage. Finally, I wasnt the whitest pasty, ginger. Not that I am ashamed, it was just nice so be with others who are also proud. Ireland is beautiful. Yes, it is green, but what I enjoyed most was their strong culture. I learned to dance an irish jig, sing a folk song, make typical bread, and play irish instruments.
Brittany:
Directly after my trip to Ireland, my french famly and I headed straight for the western region of France. Brittany is SO stunning. I am quite honored to have lived in France. I still consider it to be the most diverse and beautiful country I have yet to see. The weather was wonderful and the week was the closer I needed with my famly here. Of course I won’t be really saying goodbye to them, because now they are a second family to me, but it was one GREAT last memory that we could make all together (and with their counsins as well). The week was quite relaxing, the only touristy thing we did was visit ”Le mont st. michel”: breath-taking. We stayed in the house of a family friend and I expected it to be a small second home at the beach that is typical to find in savannah or st.simons. No, this house was huge, incredibly decorated, and confortable. Not to mention is was 1 minute on foot to the beach. We spent our nights in a beachside cafe where met some locals and ended passing the week with them. Over-all it was just absolutely perfect.
The Netherlands:
As usual my time in Holland was special. I stayed with my cousin and his girlfriends and they are immensely kind and loving. We went out to see the city and the night life. They took me to place I would have never found as a tourist. They even declared me a frequent visitor (one step up from just a tourist). That made me feel special of course. I even took a day by myself just to navigate and explore the great city of Amsterdam. Then the day that took the cake… QUEENSDAY. I could try and describe what happens on this day, but it would even begin to sufficiently paint this bright orange picture. All I can say is it is knd of like Mardi Gras, if you imagine the number off people and crazy parades. Except that it is all in the canals. Anyway, I spent the entire day on a boat with my cousins and their friends. I definitely consider it the wildest, most entertaining day of my life. What made my experience though (as usual) is the bond I have with my cousins. There is never any judgment, unhappiness, bordem when we are together. Generosity and kindness flows from one to the next and I honestly hate that we live a world apart. While we do see eachother quite often considering the distance, evertime I leave them its heart-breaking. But atleat I know its never the last time.
I hope I have gained that sort of relationship with my French family. I want to continue make expriences for the rest of our lives. I am so blessed to have spent a year completely immersed in another culture and I hope to have positively displayed my culture to them as well. This year went fast, but I know if wont be one moment of my life. I will take everyting I have learned and witnessed and use itto shape who I am and how I view the world.
